In "This Ain't No Hayride -- Sordid Tales For The New Millennium," Hanan assimilated a ten-year anthology that expands beyond rock, and reaches deep into her own American Celtic and Spanish roots. The resulting sound is classically Americana in its irreverence and rebellion; and like America itself, the influence of tradition speaks more than a whisper throughout the recordings.

With confidence & authenticity, Hanan merges biting realism into the landscape of American Roots Rock through the collision of driving guitars & traditional instrumentation. A full, melodic voice guides the band (in all their incarnations) through poignant insights & harmonic irony. As a poet, Hanan delivers her messages with humor, wit and sarcasm.

The CD contains 12 tracks assembled loosely around the fading American spirits of revolution & compassion. Styles range from the traditional country melodies of "Slice of America," to the hard-core punk of "Capture the Moon," to the haunting psychedelic spirit of "Dreams," to the blues rock ballad of "When the Rain Comes Down on You." The CD insert contains paintings, lyrics and photographs in a full-color, 12-page visual accompaniment.
